Scary spill
Posted on April 8th, 2012 at 3:40 am by and

We had our first spill tonight. Out for last walk of the night and he turned to get love from me and went down on his wound. He shrieked. I still have a knot in my tummy. No apparent damage but man it scared mommy!

Those spills are scary! Don’t be surprised if he lays around a lot today. I’m not so worried about the wound as long as it’s clean and not bleeding, but more the other leg that may have pulled or twisted a bit. He may be a little sore – and if he scared himself he may be a little more timid to try things for a bit. No worries, he’ll have lots of spills and a little time of extra medicinal naps and ice on sore muscles should do the trick. On the other hand, he may be a spunky little guy who is better right away!
Either way – Keep on healing!

He is limping on his remaining front leg a little but not afraid or timid. Can you tell me a little more about ice packs? Directly on the site? How long and how often?

Oh boy that happened to me too cheeto! My foster mom was SO SCARED, I cried for long time, she didn’t know what to do but hold me and the pain finally went away after a little bit, I hope yours did to. Tell your mommy to keep checking the wound, I did get two small bumps filled with fluid after my spill, but they went down in just a day or two!

The place where he had the small seroma the day he got home seems a little puffy. Watching it closely!
